R.A.y.S.
Raising Awareness in Young Skin
We’re a teen-led nonprofit dedicated to teaching kids the importance of protecting their skin because healthy habits today mean brighter tomorrows.
What we Do!
R.A.Y.S. was founded by a group of teens who saw how important it is to start sun protection early.
Skin cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, and healthy skin habits can begin in childhood.
Our Mission
To empower kids with the knowledge and tools they need to protect their skin and prevent skin cancer.
Way cool!
Our Vision
A world where every child grows up understanding the importance of sun safety and self-care.
School Talks & Interactive Workshops
We visit elementary and middle schools to connect with children in a way that is engaging and fun. Our workshops are designed by teens, for kids, making the message relatable and easy to understand.
We talk about why sunscreen is important and how it works.
We explain the risks of too much sun exposure, including sunburns, premature skin damage, and the long-term risk of skin cancer.
We use kid-friendly demonstrations, like showing how UV light works with simple props, to make the science exciting and clear.
Get InvolveD!
Volunteer: Teens are welcome to join us in helping to spread awareness.
Invite us: Book a R.A.Y.S talk or workshop at your school.
Support: Sponsor an event, donate supplies, or partner with us.
We work alongside dermatologists, teachers, and local organizations to make sure our message reaches as many children as possible.
By combining education with action, we create a ripple effect—kids take what they learn home, share it with their families, and build healthier communities together.
